Hispanic heritage month in the US tends to be pretty typical. You get “top 10 Hispanic stars who ruled Hollywood” or “top 10 Hispanic-inspired recipes” or “top 10 public figures you didn’t know were Hispanic” (FYI, Charlie Sheen is one of them).

As a culturally diverse (and predominantly Hispanic) interactive creative studio, we felt a generic “Happy Hispanic Heritage Month” post wasn’t enough, so we created “It’s Possible,” a month-long campaign to empower success stories, the people living them, and the people reading them.

Our mindset: find captivating stories people can relate

We created this campaign to tell stories you don’t usually read or hear. We wanted to share stories from “everyday people”

“The most important thing to us when planning this campaign was to make it relatable. If the people we were going to reach could see themselves in the stories we would tell them, we knew they would feel way more inspired.”

We featured visual artists, entrepreneurs, models, and activists. The point was to show that only self-imposed limits matter. We presented stories with positive, reassuring messages and asked participants to share little-known details.

Meet the protagonists of these powerful stories

Elio Morillo an operations engineer at NASA, yes, you read that right, NASA. As he puts it himself, he “reached the stars”. For him, one of the main keys to success is not to be afraid of asking for help.

The Mizrahi family, moved to the US from México and now they can share their success story on modeling, entrepreneurship, acting, and being amazing influencers. They reminded us to be strong but flexible and to start from the bottom to chase our dreams.

We realized that if there’s a trait that all these protagonists share is that they are all fighters, and that is especially true for Mayela Calderón. As an advocate for gender and racial equality, she inspires us to “work three times as hard as anyone in this country”.

Amaranta Martinez is a muralist, illustrator, and NFT creator. She’s always been inspired by strong independent women, especially single mothers, so as Hispanics, we need to keep building community to support one another.

It’s very important to nurture yourself with stories of people who were once where you are now,” and as a news reporter for NBC Universal and Telemundo 51, Jessenia Hatti can certainly tell us a lot about that.

This campaign yielded what? Pride

We created a platform to honor inspiring Hispanics eager to participate and share their experience, especially with those who are just starting or considering migrating to the US.

Since 2021, the number of Hispanics in America has surpassed 61 million, of which 33% are immigrants (non-US-born Hispanics). And guess what? Now they know it is possible to make it in this country.

Thank you to all these brave people and families who work hard to build this community.
